Custom tracking domain

By default, the live view, click-through and open-tracking links in your emails point at mailinapp.com. A custom tracking domain replaces that with a subdomain of your own — click.yourbrand.com — so every link a recipient sees, hovers over, or forwards to a colleague matches your brand instead of ours.

Set it up

Available on Lite and above, on a domain you've already verified for sending. From that domain's detail panel in Settings:

  1. Choose a subdomain (e.g. click) and hit Enable custom tracking domain.
  2. Add the one CNAME record shown at your DNS provider, pointing your chosen subdomain at MailInApp's tracking endpoint.
  3. MailInApp automatically provisions a trusted TLS certificate for your hostname once the CNAME resolves — no certificate files to upload, and no downtime for existing sends while it verifies.

Once verified, every new send from that domain — manual, scheduled, journey, or Send API — uses the custom hostname automatically. Nothing already sent changes; older emails keep working against the mailinapp.com links they were sent with.

What it doesn't change

Interaction recording, dedup, rate limiting and analytics are identical either way — a custom tracking domain only changes which hostname appears in the link, not how it behaves. Downgrading your plan or disconnecting the domain immediately stops new sends from using it (falling back to mailinapp.com) without breaking anything already delivered.
