Sending is a two-step confirmation, always
prepare_send resolves your audience and renders a preview without sending anything; confirm_send requires that exact preview's own token. An assistant can't send mail without first showing you what's about to go out and to how many people.

Reading your projects and results, editing designs, and managing contacts are pre-checked on the consent screen. Sending mail to your real contacts is never granted by default — you switch it on explicitly, and every send still needs the two-step preview-then-confirm flow on top. Questions, answered
Does connecting an assistant share my password?
No. Connecting goes through an OAuth consent screen you approve while signed in — the assistant receives a scoped, revocable token, never your password or a copy of an API key.
Can an assistant send mail to my contacts without my knowledge?
No. Sending mail is a scope you grant explicitly (never checked by default), and even once granted, a send always goes through a two-step prepare-then-confirm flow that surfaces the exact recipient count and a rendered preview before anything goes out.

No tool can read or rotate an API key, a webhook secret or an SMTP password, change payment or domain settings, manage team invites, or touch Stripe/billing at all — the same carve-outs an editor teammate is already blocked from everywhere else in MailInApp.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Connections in the dashboard lists every assistant you've approved with a one-click Revoke — it takes effect immediately, independent of anything you do on the assistant's own side.
Is this available on the free plan?
Yes — reading your projects and results, and building new ones, is available on every plan including Free. Sending real campaigns through a connector needs at least the Starter plan.
